Book: "Who took my cheese?"

This short fable is about how people handle change. Something we instinctively try to avoid or minimize, but it happens and is inevitable. Cheese is a metaphor for whatever you want or need in your life, it is your goal.

Book: "Who took my cheese?"

The book tells us about 2 mice named Kits and Kots who were trapped inside a labyrinth, in which also live Hem and Haw, two complex little men.every morning the 4 characters go through the labyrinth in search of cheese and every day they find large quantities in the same place "the cheese station C".the days go by normally, but at a certain point one of the mice realizes that something is changing. The days go by normally, but at a certain point one of the mice realizes that something is changing, as there is gradually less and less cheese left and those that are left are of poorer quality. The little men do not detect anything until one day the cheese finally disappears. The mice are not too surprised and quickly get moving to find another source of cheese, that is, they did not stop to ask the causes of what had happened simply use their instinct and act. The little men instead remain paralyzed; Haw does not understand what is happening and Hem feels annoyed, however, they do nothing different to change the situation. Every day the little men keep coming to the cheese station C in search of cheese, but the place remains empty.A few days later Haw reacts and tries to convince Hem to go looking for cheese, but despite his attempts he is unable to convince him, so Haw sets out on his quest alone. After his decision Haw feels excited and happy, his search becomes fun, he starts to imagine new types of cheese and although he has not yet achieved what he was looking for he starts to enjoy the change. Hem decides that even if he got a new source of cheese he wouldn't like it, he doesn't really know what happened to it, he would probably starve to death. Eventually Haw succeeds, he gets more cheese than he ever imagined.

Along the way Haw learns several life lessons that shape his new philosophy, lessons that he writes down on the wall of the maze:

Change happens, anticipate it!

The world is in constant motion, change is something we can't avoid, but we can get ahead of it, we may have to change ourselves.

Don't hold on to old illusions.

Fight for your dreams, but do not stay anchored in the illusions that moved you in the past, because they may have no place in the present, nor in the future and may prevent you from looking at new and exciting horizons.

Do not cling to fear, face it and get rid of the irrational!

Fear paralyzes, prevents you from moving forward, face it and discard the irrational excuses for not moving forward.

Be aware of small changes in your situation

Often big changes do not come suddenly, they are preceded by a series of small changes.

Be prepared to adapt quickly by

By changing yourself.

Enjoy the change

Savor the adventure of setting off in new directions.

Be prepared to change again

Remember there is always new cheese.

This short fable is about how people handle change. Something we instinctively try to avoid or minimize, but it happens and is inevitable. Cheese is a metaphor for whatever you want or need in your life, it is your goal: for mice what they want is cheese, for humans it can be happiness, success, money, etc. The labyrinth is a metaphor for life, whatever it is where people spend their time looking for what they want or need. Faced with the disappearance of the cheese they were used to ("the change") each of the four characters reacts in a different way according to his or her personality:

- Kits is prepared and looks for the change early

- Kots reacts and acts quickly

- Hem resists change

- Haw adapts and manages to see change as a possibility for improvement.

In the face of inevitable changes we must react, adapt and act quickly; subsequently we must enjoy them and understand them as possibilities for improvement in our personal and professional lives.

I have also been where you are now. When I started with my dream of setting up my own Medical Clinic and I was the Executive Director, I did not know how to fulfill my responsibilities at work and be present at home with my family at the same time. However, after making changes in my productivity, goal setting and leadership, I was able to take my company forward through an economic recession the country was in and achieve positive results; all while being home in time to have dinner with my family every night.

I now teach the same principles that helped my leadership, along with my team, here at CIME Academy.

we develop a training for doctors by conducting practical courses with real patients.
